Spending some time with Mikayla and Cheyenne brought me back to my own childhood.I was quickly reminded of the special bond between a girl and her horse as I watched these two interact. The respect and trust for one another and the obvious compassion for eachother.

I was fortunate to grow up with a twin sister who rode horses. I was never one to take interest in riding, as I was the prissy girl and didn't want to get my hands dirty. But, I always admired my sister for her dedication to caring for her horses and how that was put before any social activities, even through high school. I can see this, too, in Mikalya. I am thrilled that she is one of my daughters best friends.

Legendary Uncle George

Meet my Uncle George, the creative, talented, cook, scrabble game pro, pond expert, craftsman, family man, musician...need I say more? We were so fortunate to spend time with him this Summer. He greeted us with homemade baked goodies, fresh brewed tea, chili on the stove and a roast in the crock pot. He showed our son how to widdle wood. He played his guitar, and he whooped our tails at scrabble. Thank you for your hospitality uncle George, and for the wonderful memories.

The old barn by our home will soon be destroyed for the construction of a Catholic School. Each time I drive by, I grin to see that it is still standing. Thankfully, my kids obliged when I asked to take them there for some up-to-date pictures. The weather was gorgeous, the kids were cooperative, and the final images were priceless. You will see a lot more of this picture-perfect backdrop as Senior Sessions are being booked.

My daughter is so fortunate to have an incredible group of girlfriends. Smart, talented, and beautiful. I was lucky enough to have a girls day out with them last weekend, which started with a photo shoot at the station and ended with Starbucks (and loads of shopping in between). It was a great day.

We did this entire shoot in under fifteen minutes. With an on-the-move one year old, we made it work. Our goal was to capture a family shot, and we did it. It wasn't hard though, this family is picture perfect.

She is a tiny little thing but won't let anyone give her a hard time. She is a driven and creative girl of my own heart. She makes me proud. She keeps me on my toes. It was a perfect day for an outdoor photoshoot. And, I had to take this adorable l ittle one to my favorite spot downtown. Her eyes sparkled with the sunlight and she was fascinated with our urban surroundings. It was a challenge to keep up with her but we managed to get enough time with her for some amazing shots.

Meet Angela.....Usually when we get together, we are on the water, boating. But, we hung out the other day with a different plan, as she is preparing a gift for her husband on their anniversary. It had been several weeks since I had my camera in hand and I have to admit how nervous I was before this session. Newborns grow so fast and you only have a small window to capture their precious moments that don't seem to last long enough. I hope that these images will remind Mommy that this little angel once fit curled in her arms. It makes me wish I could go back in time and do this all over again with my kids. My youngest start school in the fall...

Most photographers would agree that a field is the perfect location for a natural backdrop. When the sun is just right to give that warm glow and the weather is not so hot that you actually can enjoy the outdoors. Most kids would disagree, however....the itchy grass, the dirt, the bugs... I was so lucky today to have Sophie be a part of this shoot. She has the most precious look about her and she was willing to do anything I asked.

I have had the joy of watching this little one grow. She's almost walking already and hasn't turned one yet. Today was the perfect weather with overcast skies. So, on a whim, we headed over and began shooting. She loves the camera. And, her gorgeous eyes are a photographers dream. She kept laughing and blowing into the air. Her hands were going crazy because she was applauding herself! She kept me smiling the entire time. I was happy to come home and look over the photos captured from our time together. Some fabulous pictures, that I just have to share!

Feet are something a good friend of mine is amazing at capturing in photos. I had to try it today. Parents love looking back at the feet of their little ones over the years...I still love to kiss my kids feet even though they are giants now.
